Chronology of cameras Agfa Ansco
Whether branded as Ansco or Ansco Agfa, all Readyset models are simple folding cameras, ready to use, without adjustments, with a single shutter speed, fixed aperture, and fixed focus. They only differ in their finish and presentation.
Readyset: The bellows are the same color as the rest of the camera. The covering is faux leather.
Readyset Royal: The finish is luxurious and the covering is genuine leather.
Readyset Traveler: The covering is canvas, with multicolored stripes.
All three series are available in either No. 1 (6 x 9 cm) or No. 1A (6.5 x 11 cm) formats.
The distinctive feature of the Readyset Traveler is their covering in multicolored striped canvas. This one is one of the four existing models, distinguished by the canvas pattern.
Agfa and Ansco joined forces in the American market between 1928 and 1943. Agfa-Ansco, a subsidiary of I.G. Farbenindustrie in the United States infiltrated by Nazi spies (as reported on the evening of August 5, 1951), was absorbed as enemy property, and Ansco continued its activities independently.
During this period, some models were marketed under the Agfa Ansco or Ansco brand. This partnership is the reason why one can find Agfa cameras labeled "Made in USA."
